A quality used car specialist and a national provider of building control services and structural warranties have both expanded at York’s Escrick Business Park, which was developed by S Harrison.

DG Dale & Son has acquired Escrick Business Park’s final warehouse unit which covers 1,860 sq ft.  The family run firm was founded in 1959 and sells a wide range of used cars as well as operating a repair, MOT and service centre.

The company, which is now run by brothers Nick and James Dale, relocated from Crockey Hill to Escrick Business Park in 2014, initially leasing two units covering 4,850 sq ft in total.  It now occupies almost 9,000 sq ft of warehouse space at the business park.  This latest unit will be transformed into a new paint and body shop.  S Harrison was advised on the deal by Langleys Solicitors.

In addition, Darlington based Aedis has signed a one-year lease on 675 sq ft of office space at Escrick Business Park.  The company works with homeowners, architects, builders and developers throughout the UK and will use the new office as its Yorkshire headquarters.

Phil Hill, from S Harrison, said: “DG Dale & Son has been one of Escrick Business Park’s major success stories.  Nick and James initially took advantage of our flexible terms, which enabled them to lease a unit before deciding to buy and in the last four years the company has almost doubled its footprint as it has continued growing.

“We’re also delighted to welcome Aedis to Escrick Business Park.  The company was attracted by the site’s rural location, combined with easy access to the national motorway network and ultrafast fibre broadband.

“As a result of these latest deals, all our warehouse space is now occupied and we have a small number of office units still available that we’re already talking to several businesses about.”

The vacant offices at Escrick Business Park range from approximately 1,400 sq ft to 2,400 sq ft.  In addition, there are fantastic design and build opportunities available, that could offer 4,500 sq ft and 5,400 sq ft office units, or one larger 10,000 sq ft space.

The offices all offer ultrafast fibre broadband and are available on freehold or leasehold terms.  There’s also a try-before-you-buy arrangement where companies can lease space for a year and offset the rental cost against the purchase price, if they decide to buy.

Escrick Business Park is located immediately off the A19 York to Selby Road just outside the village of Escrick and provides excellent access to the M1, M62, A1 and the national motorway network. Over 160 people now work at the Park.
